"Hitler. Reden, Schriften, Anordnungen"

This edited collection of Adolf Hitler’s speeches, papers, and orders makes all of his known statements available to researchers and the broader public, from the refounding of the Nazi Party in February 1925 to his appointment as chancellor on January 30, 1933. The collection closes major research gaps as there had yet to be a systematic collection of Hitler’s activities as a speaker, party leader, and politician for that period of time. Those years, however, were particularly marked by the rise of the NSDAP, Hitler’s growing role as the sole Führer of the Nazi movement, and the strategy, mostly determined by Hitler, to fight for and attain political power in Germany.

The collection centers on Hitler’s speeches, which were by far the most effective propaganda tool used by the National Socialist movement through 1933. The speeches provide insight into Hitler’s worldview and political goals and demonstrate continuities and changes in Nazi propaganda. Since successful propaganda always reflects a process of reciprocal communication, the speeches also offer information on the intended audience as well as the political, social, and ideological expectations in the country.
