The documents are annotated and academically prepared for publication in Akten zur Auswärtigen Politik der Bundesrepublik Deutschland (“Documents in the Foreign Policy of the Federal Republic of Germany” – AAPD), providing a crucial contribution to historical research.

The Diaries of Joseph Goebbels

In Die Tagebücher von Joseph Goebbels, all of Goebbels’ diaries are provided in their final full form as corrected by Goebbels – since 1941 including a report on the military state of affairs before each entry. The entries are also accompanied by the data relevant to their use in the edition, with a short description of their provenance.

The complete edition of the diaries covers approximately 98% of the materials written or dictated by Goebbels. Each volume provides indexes of persons and places. This edition is a singular source as the sole personal testimony of a top-level National Socialist politician maintained continually over a period of two decades.

The edition concludes with a complete index.
