The Lifeworlds and Persecution of Homosexual Men in Baden and Württemberg

Projektinhalt:

Supported in an advisory capacity by the IfZ and the Magnus Hirschfeld Foundation, the state government of Baden-Württemberg approved, in the first quarter of 2016, an initial academic module for a comprehensive research project on this topic, which has begun its work under the direction of Wolfram Pyta of the University of Stuttgart’s Institute of History. Michael Schwartz is participating as an advisor to the project on behalf of the IfZ. In addition to another already approved public history module for the public presentation and discussion of these research activities, the project involves investigation into the persecution of homosexual men in southwest Germany. Unlike other regions of Germany, the project can build on a comprehensive body of sources here, documents that often permit insights into situations of everyday life.
