Qualified archivists are on hand during opening hours to provide an introduction to the collections, to explain the use of catalogues and search methods, and to provide support for individual searches.

The archives provide support for

• the verification of names in the catalogue of persons and in the search for newspaper titles and editions
• the search for the addresses of archives and connected institutions
• information on materials concerning particular topics, listings from our catalogues, and further search assistance. 

Inquiries can also be sent to the archives by email or letter. Responses can take up to several weeks in particular cases.
