The Archives

The archives of the Leibniz Institute for Contemporary History (IfZ) have the task, as stipulated in their foundation charter, of collecting, indexing, and maintaining contemporary history sources, complementing the collections of the federal and state archives. The collection activities of the archives take into account various future research areas. The archives provide archival materials to all interested parties in compliance with its regulations of use. This includes, in particular, materials of supraregional significance, printed materials, and newspapers from the end of the First World War to the present.
