Izabela Paszko, member of the INFOCOM Team, was granted a short-term research fellowship at the Western Institute in Poznań (Instytut Zachodni). During her three-month (November 2021-January 2022) stay in Poland, Ms. Paszko conducted research in archives, libraries and historical institutes. She drew from their collections diaries, files of police inquiries and private letters in order to recreate social dynamics and information distribution in the occupied Poland. While in residence at the Institute, Ms. Paszko explored how the process of gaining information shaped family and neighbour relationships. The research fellowship provided an opportunity not only to collect historical sources, but also to share ideas and concepts with researchers in Poland.
