Within the framework of the Regulations, the collections are accessible to students, doctoral candidates, post-docs, researchers from both within Germany and abroad as well as journalists, schoolchildren, and other individuals with an interest in the materials.

Please note: As of 8th of March, 2021, the archives are accessible by appointment only. Information about the registration procedure is available here (currently only in German).
Due to the reduced number of seats, the reading rooms of the IfZ are only available to persons who require the holdings of the archives or library for their research projects.
A hygiene concept has been drawn up for the on site-consultation of the archives. After confirmed registration, please enter the premises of the IfZ only with FFP2 mask and register at the front desk. The FFP2 mask must be worn throughout the IfZ building, including in the reading rooms. The hygiene rules for the use of the archives and library can be found here.

All holdings are to be used solely in the reading rooms in Munich. Loans for external use are not available.
