Research Stay in Cambridge

INFOCOM member Felix Berge spends three-week fellowship at University of Cambridge

In October 2022, INFOCOM researcher Felix Berge enjoyed a stay at the University of Cambridge as a fellow of the program of the Leibniz Institute for Contemporary History and the DAAD Research Hub for German Studies. Since 2019, both institutions have established a program for visiting scholars, which provides IfZ historians the great opportunity to enjoy a research stay in Cambridge.

The three-week fellowship provided an ideal chance to work on the PhD project in its final stages, as well as to connect with British academics and meet historians from the Cambridge colleges. This included the weekly Cambridge Modern European History Research Seminar and a conference of the Cambridge DAAD Research Hub for German Studies, in cooperation with the Munk School of Global Affairs and Public Policy at the University of Toronto, about Germany’s political and historical role in the 21st century. Felix Berge was also a guest of Prof. Dr. Daniel Siemens in the Modern European History Seminar at Newcastle University, where he had the chance to present and discuss his project. Apart from that, the Cambridge University Library provided excellent academic service to work on the dissertation.

The stay was made possible through the generous support of the fellowship program of the Leibniz Institute for Contemporary History and the DAAD Research Hub for German Studies.
